Bedroom Curtains

When it comes to night time and getting a good night’s sleep we need to make sure our rooms don’t let in too much light. One way to do this, of course, is to buy heavy drapes and hope for the best.

Bedroom Curtains

Blackout Lining for Curtains and Roman Blinds

The other method, if we’re ordering made to measure curtains or Roman blinds with our favourite designer fabric, is to buy bedroom curtains with a blackout lining already intact. It’s also possible to buy black-out lining which clips onto your curtains, but the curtains don’t tend to sit as well when this is attached separately so it’s better to get the blackout lining sewn onto the fabric right from the start (less hassle in the long run too).

Adventurous Bedroom Curtains and Roman Blinds

You can really go to town with the fabric for your bathroom (as indeed you can with the décor for the whole room – and many interior designers do) simply because, when it comes down to it, the bedroom isn’t a room in which you spend a whole lot of time (not compared to the living room or kitchen, even) so you won’t tire of any outlandish décor scheme too quickly. As a result, why not consider a dramatic fabric such as Andrew Martin’s Arazova in his Night and Day collection?

Or maybe even Avalanche from Andrew Martin’s Hurricane range?

Insulate and Regulate the Temperature of Your Bedroom with Blackout Lining

Blackout lining is fantastic for keeping out cold winter drafts – especially in the case of lovely, old-fashioned sash and case bay windows – so your bedroom will feel warm, toasty and a place you’ll look forward to retiring to at the end of the night.

And because drafts are minimized, you can also turn down the heating and feel virtuous about being eco-conscious, as well as appreciate the fact your saving money at the same time. Meanwhile, keep your blackout lining and tab top curtains or blind closed during summer days and your room will remain lovely and cool for sleeping in at night.

Who Buys Blackout Lined Curtained and Blinds?

Light sleepers can benefit from these blackout lining on custom made curtains and blinds. So too will shift workers and others who sleep irregular hours, babies and the long-term sick. In the main though curtains and Roman blinds with blackout lining will benefit everyone seeking a good night’s restful sleep.
